The News of the World settles privacy action with publicist Max Clifford
NoW has settled the suit in a deal worth more than £1m, The Guardian reported.
Clifford was pursuing a civil legal action suit for breaching of privacy after his voicemail messages were intercepted by a NoW private investigator between 2005 and 2007.
The phone hacking was widespread and employed by private investigator Glenn Mulcaire and NoW royal editor Clive Goodman which saw the pair being jailed in 2007.
The Guardian has previously reported that £1m was also paid to the Professional Footballers' Association's chief exectuive Gordon Taylor, his legal advisor Jo Armstrong and another unnamed legal advisor.
The new settlement means that Clifford will no longer be allowed to make documents relating to Operation Motorman public.
